From Stress to Support: Finding Food and Community in York County and Beyond
We can all lend a helping hand, feel more connected, and empower ourselves and others.
The past few months and the months ahead can feel scary and challenging for a variety of reasons. Many people may be worried about their own or others’ ability to access the food and resources they need and rely on for survival. This resource page provides information for people in the York County area who are in need of support, or for those looking for ways to help others in need.
For those outside of York County, PA:
Even if you are not local, there are ways to find food pantries and support programs in your area.
Many churches, community centers, and nonprofits operate local food assistance programs.
You can search online for “[your city/state] food pantry” or “[your city/state] community resources.”
National organizations like Feeding America provide searchable directories of food banks across the United States.
Local United Way chapters are also excellent resources for connecting with community needs, volunteer opportunities, and support programs nearby. Small acts like donating food, volunteering, or simply sharing resources, can make a meaningful difference.
Finding your balance and impact:
While challenges or crises may affect those we love or our communities, we cannot control everything outside of our reach. What we can do is focus on what we are capable of and willing to contribute, without overwhelming ourselves. Every small effort matters, like a single act of kindness can ripple outward in ways we may never fully see. Sometimes we are just a drop in the bucket, and other times that same drop is exactly what makes the cup overflow, changing someone else’s day or life in a profound way. Focusing on what is within your power allows you to take meaningful action while maintaining your own well-being.
Your need for support and connection is VALID:
If you are also looking for support in processing everything that has been going on, such as managing stress, anxiety, or other life challenges, my therapy services are here for you. You can schedule time to talk through your experiences, explore coping strategies, and receive guidance for navigating this time. Feel free to reach out through my Contact Page for more information how we can start working together to meet your goals.
Connect with resources for yourself or others in need or services.
